Spark Checker Ignition Spark Tester - [SG-01530]

A spark checker gives an easy way to check if your batteries or spark plugs have electric charge in them without having to turn the engine on. It allows to easy deduce if the battery or spark plug is the issue when your product is not working. You can place the gripper onto a plug wire or onto a recoil start to give an accurate reading.

  • The spark checker will flash green if it is ok. This means the problem is not with the battery or spark plug (it could likely be lack of fuel, bad fuel, improper choke settings, etc).
  • If it flashers red it means the spark voltage is to low it could mean the battery or spark plug needs changing (it could also mean a flooded engine, shorted plug, low compression, etc).
  • If it can also flash yellow which means the spark voltage is to high. This can mean you have a broken spark plug or a plug wire is not connected properly. (The spark checker may also flashes yellow if it is on the wrong engine type so you may need to change the switch on the side).
  • Finally if is a constant red it means there is no voltage.
  • Furthermore it comes with an AAA battery and handy diagnostic tag to attatch to the spark checker.
