For an auto-darkening filter with improved optics get 3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Filter 9100XXi Upgrade Kit, 500126. It has variable dark shades 5, 8, 9-13, 3M™ Speedglas™ Natural Colour Technology and a viewing area of 73 mm x 107 mm. The special silver front panel allows outside control functions (grinding/memory) when used with 9100/9100Air/9100-QR welding helmets. 3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Filter 9100 Series continues our tradition of outstanding optical quality, including uniform shading and minimal distortion across the entire filter viewing area. With 3M™ Speedglas™ Natural Colour Technology, the 9100XXi welding filter allows you to recognise colours more readily. Great clarity before, during and after welding is assured. The delay function sets the dark-to-light opening time, and it’s possible to lock-in any shade, e.g. in light state 3 when grinding. It has a switching time (light-dark) of 0.1 ms, and the sensitivity of the arc detection can be adjusted for reliable switching.
