Arc Flash 14 cal/cm² Hood With Ear Protection - Class 2 And 1000V Rated - [CD-CLY-545-5511-14]
Description:
The Clydesdale 14 cal/cm² Arc Flash Hood with Ear Protection is designed to protect the wearer's head and neck from the thermal effects of an electric arc flash, should one occur whilst working under live conditions, such as fault-finding.
The one-size-fits-all hood has a comfortable, lightweight design based on a baseball cap with a large, clear anti-fog screen making all-day wear possible.
The hood features extended coverage over the ear area which is potentially vulnerable as the wearer’s first instinct in an electric arc incident is often to turn away, exposing the side of the head. The lower apron portion provides two safety features – the first to deflect any heat and molten debris away from the wearer’s face. The second is to protect the wearer from their own, natural reaction to an arc flash which is usually to inhale in shock or fright. The apron significantly reduces the volume of heat and toxic materials that the wearer might inhale.
The yellow-tinted protective screen offers improved arc flash performance when compared with our clear version. It still offers all the same benefits such as being fully removable should it require replacement or the fabric require laundering. To prevent scratching of the screen, the apron can fold over the screen and be fastened in place with Velcro to the peak, doubling as a protective cover when the hood is stored.
